Nars Dolce Vita Blush and Lip Pencil Swatch and Review - Stef's Edge
I’ll be filing this under the category “Why didn’t I try it sooner?” I guess I just thought it was nothing special. Now I know different. I recently spotted and grabbed a duo including a mini-blush and mini-lip pencil in the iconic Nars Dolce Vita shade. It’s rare to see a mini blush from Nars that’s NOT in the shade Orgasm. Am I Right???? I’ve been shying away from matte blushes for awhile. I’ve been enjoying that glow a shimmery blush can give and afraid of the chalky/powdery look that a matte powder blush can sometimes give. Dolce Vita is not chalky or powdery. It adds a beautiful transparent color to the cheeks. I’ve tried many Nars blushes over the years, and blushes from other brands high and low, and I am truly impressed by the texture and shade of Dolce Vita. The color is described by Nars as “dusty rose”. I’d say it even leans towards a berry color; a warm berry like a raspberry. I’ll tell you what it’s not though – it’s not orange or peach at all. I greatly appreciate a non orange/peachy leaning blush because those don’t always flatter my complexion or outfit, and it just seems like peachy orange is everywhere and you can barely avoid it sometimes! And sometimes cooler pink blushes can venture into Pepto Bismol shade territory – and Dolce Vita doesn’t go there at all. This little duo of blush and lip pencil is currently available on the Nordstrom and Nars websites for $24. A fantastic little duo considering the full size blush is $30 and a full size lip pencil is $27. Link to purchase directly from Nars website Link to purchase from Nordstrom website Enough babble – here are the swatches. I mostly talked about the blush in this post. I have several of the Nars Lip pencils and I’ve been expanding my collection of those a bit since the last time I posted swatches of them. I’ll have to do an updated dedicated post to the lip pencils with more swatches in the future. Thanks for reading! Have you ever tried Nars Dolce Vita? What did you think of it on your skin tone?
