I’ve been loving these shadows more and more recently. The sparkle finish is very special and unique. It’s very refined, not chunky glitter at all. It is quite sheer, and you can build it up a bit. Glitter glue (or at least an eyeshadow primer, unset) is recommended. The mattes and shimmers are smooth, not gritty, and blendable.
Shade selection is virtually all neutrals, very wearable and work-appropriate for offices where colorful makeup wouldn’t be appreciated. Some of the shades pictured are no longer available, but I think they’re a good representation of what Bobbi Brown eyeshadows are like.
The shimmer and metallic formulas are more subdued than what we see from other brands such as Colourpop, Sydney Grace, or Anastasia Beverly Hills. But I like that. Sometimes I want a nice satin formula that isn’t too reflective or attention-grabbing. These fit the bill.
Given the price point, these definitely are a splurge. I think the sparkle formula is really unique. I think for some people, these will be worth the splurge, and for others they won’t.
