Essence This Is Nude Lipstick Swatches
Essence This Is Nude lipstick is one of the most affordable lipsticks available. I’ve purchased one shade from this line before, enjoyed the formula, and thought it would be helpful to swatch the entire range for you.
These retail for $3.99 and can be purchased from Ulta and Essence Makeup. And Ulta frequently runs sales on the Essence brand.

Since this is a drugstore priced item, it’s never available to swatch in store. I suppose stores think that customers don’t mind wasting money trial-and-erroring cheaper makeup. But obviously that can really add up! Or if you’re trying to purchase online, lots of times the brands don’t even provide any swatches. And I personally find lipstick shades to be one of the hardest things to get “right”, even just the very slightest different in shade can make a big difference on your face. Or maybe I’m to picky. LOL. Definitely a possibility.
I hope these swatches will help you make the right shade selection the first time. I have swatched all of the shades currently available at Ulta (13 shades). Note that the Essence Cosmetics website offers 20 shades. I do intend to place an order from the Essence website one day, but this is what we have to work with for now.

This product is Vegan and Cruelty Free which is another great feature on top of the affordable drugstore price.
I photographed these swatches in a few different lighting situations to give you the best idea of the color.

And here are a couple of up close pictures. These shades are all semi-matte, so there really isn’t any metallic sheen or sparkle to be seen here.

Let me know what brand you’d like to see these compared to! I plan to use these to do some comparison posts as well to other brands of lipstick. Have you tried this formula?
I probably won’t get to post much in May, it’s going to be super busy for our family. My daughter is a senior graduating high school so there are a ton of events. Plus it’s our 10 year wedding anniversary, Mother’s day, and I have a birthday. All wonderful things! I’m also still working diligently on my knitting project, but nowhere near finishing. I’ll have a finished project post on that in a few months. If you want to see updates in the meantime, I post those on a separate Instagram account @stefcreates.
Thank you for reading! I hope you found this post helpful. Please consider subscribing to this blog via email. It’s incredible how much lighting effects the look of the swatches. The lipsticks look so nice! I’m becoming more impressed with Essence! I haven’t tried these though. I hope you have a great time with those events this month!

I’ve been pretty impressed with Essence as well. The packaging feels pretty cheap, but I think that’s totally acceptable at this price point.
